Thirty-one unique entrants re-entered 21 times between them to create a £2,465,000 ($2,762,883) prize pool that was shared among the top eight finishers.
Malaysia's Choon Siow was the first player to get their hands on some prize money after falling in eighth-place for £64,750. Siow is a regular on the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series tour and has five six-figure prizes to his name, the largest coming in Mar. 2019 when he finished third in the Jeju Short Deck ante-only event for $797,494.
Michael Watson followed up his ninth-place finish in the earlier £25,000 buy-in Short Deck event with a seventh-place exit in this £50,000 buy-in. Watson will return to Canada having added £64,750 to his lifetime winnings, which now stand at an impressive $11,650,298.
Another Big Cash for Chidwick
Racking up his fourth cash of the series was Stephen Chidwick. His sixth-place finish here won him £160,200 and took his earning for the festival to a cool £5,383,800 ($6,538,591). The bulk of that massive haul stemmed from Chidwick's fourth-place finish in the £1,050,000 Triton Million – A Helping Hand for Charity event won by Aaron Zang.
Frenchman Arnaud Romain made the short journey over The Channel to finish fifth in this tournament for £209,500. All seven of Romain's recorded cashes have come from Asian events or the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series. Romain locked up $1,503,549 back in May 2019 when he finished third in the Montenegro Short Deck Main Event won by fellow Frenchman Rui Cao.
Another Malaysian in Chin Lim then busted in fourth-place for £271,300 and was joined by fellow countryman Richard Yong in third-place, who netted £357,000. Both Lim and Yong are extremely well-known in the Asian poker market, with Lim being seventh in the Malaysian all-time money list and Yong being second.
Yong's exit set up a heads-up clash between David Benefield and Xu Liang. It was only a couple of days previous that Benefield found himself in the same position and he got the job done on that occasion, taking down the £25,000 Short Deck Ante-Only event for £650,000. Benefield would ultimately have to settle for second place this time around, a result worth £560,500, leaving Liang to bank the £777,000 top prize and the winner's trophy.

Triton Poker has streamed the first-ever Short-deck tournament during the Triton Super High Roller Series Montenegro in May 2018.[3]
Poker Variants[edit]
The Triton Series focusses on two main variants of Poker, No-limit Texas Hold'em and Short-deck.
Short-Deck first appeared in the high stakes live cash games in Asia, after regulars removed the 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s [4] to increase the likelihood of being dealt premium hands.
Short-Deck, also known as ‘Triton Hold'em' and Six-plus hold 'em is a game played with a 36-card deck.
The hand rankings are similar to standard No-Limit Hold'em with the exception that a Flush beats a Full House.[5]
The other significant change is that an ace also doubles up as a five, making a hand like ace, 6, 7, 8 and 9 a straight.
